will demonstrate good sportsmanship by playing fairly throughout
the game. |
Equipment:
Open space (marked by boundaries), 4 - 8 rubber chickens or
turkeys, 2 - 4 pool noodles |
|
Lesson:
Turkey Tag
-Use rubber chickens as turkeys for the game. Choose 4 - 8
students to be "it". Give them each a rubber
chicken. On the signal "go!", players with the
chicken will attempt to tag other players with the hand NOT
holding the chicken. If another person is tagged, they are
"it" and will pick up the chicken after the old
"it" drops it. This will give the old
"it" time to escape.
22 Skidoo
- Start with 4 - 5 players in the middle of the square (or
circle). These players are in the "jail".
There will be 2 - 4 prison guards with pool noodles trying to keep
prisoners in the "jail". The remaining players are
the rescuers . Students in the middle can only be freed by
shaking hands with a rescuer up to the count of 22. If a
rescuer is tagged while trying to free a prisoner by the noodle,
they will now be "jailed" too. If a student has 19
handshakes they must stay in jail until someone returns to give
them 3 more handshakes to equal 22. Rescuers may not cut
through the jail to avoid being tagged by the prison guards. |
