Lesson:

 End Line Soccer

1.                 The teacher will begin by discussing the rules and objectives of the game.

2.                 The object is to score points by shooting the ball between the cones and below the goalies waist.

3.                 Each student will be given and number (1, 2, 3, or 4 (depends on class size)).  When the number is called only those players will move to the middle of the gym to play.

4.                 The other players will stand on the end line on either side of the goal and keep the ball from going out of play.  No players may use their hands except for the goalie.  The only players allowed to go behind the end line are those students guarding the end line.

5.                 Once the rules have been explained, the teacher will ask the students questions regarding the basic political party information.  Each team will be named after the political parties (democrat and republican) and will represent the individual running for each party during the election.  (Use the information provided above in the Objectives.)  Remember to count the goals as “votes”.

At the end of the game, the teacher will discuss the importance of voting and which candidate would have won based on the outcome of the game.
