Lesson:
FOUR MAT CRAB SOCCER
Split the class into 4 equal teams. Each team will be placed
on a mat facing the center with their feet off of the mat.
The teacher will give each player a number 1 - ? (depending on
class and team size). Mats 1 and 2 will work together to
make one team and mats 3 and 4 will be the other team. The
object is to kick the crab ball over the opposing team and off the
mat. When the teacher calls a number, that player will be
allowed to come to the middle and try to score. The players
on the mat will act as the goalies and try to keep the ball from
being kicked past them. Players in the middle must stay in
crab position and not use their hands. Goalies may use any
body part but may NOT stand up. If a goalie stands to
prevent a goal a point is automatically given to the other
team. The two cones in the game mark the neutral corners,
any ball kicked here does not count for either team. After a
few minutes the teacher will stop the game and call a new number
to come out and play. Score is cumulative.
