Lesson:
3 Strike
Volleyball
Beach ball
Volley - Have the
students go back to their original spaces. Have the person with the
balloon return it and pick up one Beach ball. The student must now
volley the Beach ball with their partner (person on the same side of
the net if in groups of fours). The object is to keep the ball in
the air by using the hands and arms in a variety of way to keep the
volley going. Each student should be no further than one step from
their partner. Be sure to mention that interfering with another
group is unacceptable and if they loose control of the ball they
must return to the original spot be for starting again.
3 Strike
Volleyball - Have all the
students place all the beach balls behind the balance beam. Each
student will sit in the center of the gym while the P.E. teacher
explains the rules.
1.
Students must avoid getting strikes. They get a strike if the ball
touches the floor on their side of the net in bounds, or if someone
from their team hits the ball underneath of the net, or if someone
from their team hits the ball out of bounds.
2. When a
team has three strikes, they must run one lap around the gym before
the next round will begin.
3. For
safety, students will spread out in their space and not interfere
with other members of their team.
4. After each point, the teacher will choose a new student to
serve the ball over the net (younger students can throw the ball
over the net). |
